Land Acknowledgement

We, at Newcomer Centre of Peel, acknowledge that the land on which we gather is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Territory.

For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples have inhabited and cared for this land, continuing to do so today.

We acknowledge the territory of the Anishinabek, and other First Nations, Métis and Inuit past, present and future. This Territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties, as well as the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant.

We are grateful to be guests on this land and have the opportunity to work with the community on this Territory.
