Employment Services Program for Newcomers Counseling
Through various newcomer employment programs, counseling, advisory services, and access to job search resources, we empower newcomers to enhance their skills, build confidence, and secure rewarding employment opportunities in the Canadian labour market.
Labour Market Access
The Labour Market Access for Newcomers to Canada (LMANC) program assists internationally trained professionals in finding employment in their field. Participants learn essential job search strategies, develop networking and self-promotion skills, and gain a deeper understanding of Canadian workplace culture.
What the Program Offers You:
- 6-Week Hybrid Course:
This course combines online and in-person learning. Learn essential job search strategies, develop networking and self-promotion skills, and gain a deeper understanding of Canadian workplace culture. - Personalized Job Development:
Receive one-on-one support and a personalized job search plan to meet your unique employment needs. - Networking Opportunities:
Meet with employers who have partnered with NCP, making useful connections for job searching. - Mentorship Connections:
Connect with NCP alumni in similar fields for advice and guidance. - Workplace Integration:
Employers will have the option to offer a two-week unpaid trial period. This trial will help align training and experience with the workplace.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 4 – 6 in all four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing)
- Open to Permanent Residents, Convention Refugees, and MOME2023 permit holders
Rural Employment Initiative
The Rural Employment Initiative (REI) is a project at the Newcomer Center of Peel funded by IRCC. REI supports Ontario communities with their regional newcomer attraction and retention strategies by sharing resources, organizing employment bus tours and virtual programs, hosting community spotlights, hiring events, and job fairs.
REI helps internationally trained newcomers explore opportunities beyond the GTA so that they can contribute to the economic development of rural Ontario.
Who Can Participate?
- Internationally trained newcomers who are willing to relocate to a smaller community in Ontario
- Permanent Residents, Convention Refugees
